Velvet Underground UK Promo Tour (inc. film screenings)... as mentioned in this month's MOJO | 11 June 2009

Richie will be busy on both sides of the pond with all manner of dates across America and the UK to promote his extensive VU day by day White Light/White Heat in June and July.

The writer will also be doing a Q&A/signing in No Hit Records, Camden's hippest record store, on Saturday, July 18. The shop is situated in the middle of Parkway (next to The Dublin Castle pub) in fashionable North London.
Come and buy a book, get it signed, chat with Richie, check out some records... and weather permitting enjoy a glass of wine in the shop's pleasant garden.

Monday July 20th we hope to do an event in the Borders on Charing Cross Rd, just on the corner of Denmark St in London.

Thurs July 23rd
Waterstones Gower St, London. Reading, videos, music and Q&A. Please call 0207 7636 1577 to reserve a ticket. The ticket is £3, but redeemable against the cover of the book. Free refreshments.

I'll be discussing The Unreleased Beatles: Music and Film, and showing rare films and playing rare recordings featured in the book, on Thursday, June 11, from 7:00pm-8:30pm at the Antioch Library at 501 West 18th Street in Antioch, California. Admission is free.

On Wednesday, June 17 from 7pm-9pm, I'll be doing an event for my book White Light/White Heat: The Velvet Underground Day-By-Day, published this spring by Jawbone Press, at the Park Branch of the San Francisco Public Library at 1833 Page Street. The evening will feature rare film footage and audio clips; guest speakers who saw and shared the stage with the Velvets; and slides of all sorts of interesting images from throughout the VU's amazing career. Signed copies of the book will be available for purchase. Admission is free.

On Tuesday, June 16 from 7:30pm-9pm, I'll be discussing White Light/White Heat: The Velvet Underground Day-By-Day at Pegasus Books at 2349 Shattuck Avenue in Berkeley, California. Rare audiovisual material from throughout the Velvet Underground's career will be featured.



On Monday, June 22 from 7pm-8:30pm, I'll be discussing White Light/White Heat: The Velvet Underground Day-By-Day at the Central Library at 350 W. Georgia Street
in downtown Vancouver, Canada. Rare audiovisual material from throughout the Velvet Underground's career will be featured, and signed copies of the book will be available for purchase.

On Wednesday, June 24 from 6:30pm-8pm, I'll be discussing White Light/White Heat: The Velvet Underground Day-By-Day at the Central Library in downtown Seattle, at 1000 Fourth Avenue. Appearing at the event will be Doug Yule, bassist and sometime keyboardist/guitarist/backup vocalist/lead vocalist in the Velvet Underground from 1968 to 1973. Rare audiovisual material from the Velvet Underground's career will also be featured. Copies of the book will be available for purchase.

On Thursday, June 25 from 7:30pm-9pm, I'll be discussing White Light/White Heat: The Velvet Underground Day-By-Day at Powell's bookstore at 3723 SE Hawthorne Blvd. in Portland, Oregon. Rare audiovisual material from throughout the Velvet Underground's career will be featured.
