Bill Bruford on BBC 4, Prog Britannia |
05 January 2009
Who in the UK saw Prog Britannia on Friday night? Bill Bruford, original drummer of Yes, and later of King Crimson, was one of the interviewees who talked about how they took rock music beyond the perimeters of pop in the late '60s and early '70s.
Bill's fascinating memoirs of 40 years in the biz will be published by Jawbone in March.
In the clip below Bill, Steve Howe and Rick Wakeman talk about the initial formation of Yes.
This excellent documentary wittily explored the emergence of prog from the psychedelia of Sgt Pepper and 'A Whiter Shade Of Pale' through to the full blown antics of the stadium filling classical induced muso playing around of ELP. Well worth watching if the progressive revolution in music interests you and essential viewing for Bruford fans. Why not pre-order Bill's book on Amazon today?
